Paris, May 15, 2006 - Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) announced today that its annual shareholders' meeting will take place on September 7th, 2006 at 2.00 p.m. Paris time, at the Palais Omnisports of Paris-Bercy.
Subject to the approval of the shareholders' meeting, a dividend of Euro 0.16 will be paid in cash as of September 11, 2006 per Alcatel ordinary share or Alcatel ADS comprising the capital of the company on December 31, 2005 and being entitled to dividends as of January 1, 2005.
The shareholders' meeting will also have to approve the merger project with Lucent as well as the 2005 results.
